WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE

BABY ROOM

This is a very personal project as the room was designed for one of Stella + the Stars youngest team members - baby Celeste.

A dull white room with no features and ugly tiles was transformed into a colourful, unexpected, gender-neutral baby nursery that will easily evolve as Celeste grows. The bargain leaf paper from Dragonmart, found by coincidence while sourcing kitchen tiles, is the focus point of the room and the perfect backdrop to the colourful accessories and furniture.

To keep costs low, we sourced most of the furniture from IKEA and reused existing pieces - for example the orange Bloom crib and the white Eames repro chair were originally sourced years ago for Stella’s bedroom in London. Coupled with with a mix of designer accessories from Amara and affordable artprints from Etsy, the result is a colourful space, with an unexpected colour palette for a baby room but that will easily be updated to a toddler and older girl’s room when the time comes.
